Athletics day

Nervrackingly waiting at the starting line for the whistle I start thinking I better not make myself look stupid and lose the race. Then the whistle blows and off we go. I don't know but at least 7 people sprint but some are slow sprinters so they were at the back.

Slowly I creep toward the front the chances of me getting to the front are unlikely but i'll give it ago. But it didn't happen. I finished 3rd I was happy that I could get 3rd in the long distance.

High jump i'm on my way. I was nervously watching all the other year 6's jump. Some were amazing and then some were average. I was one of those average people. I'm tiny, I have nearly the tiniest legs in the senior syndicate and I suck at jumping. Some of the best people were jumping the like the worst.

It was time ...  I cleared it lots of excitement filled my body I was so relieved I went to my mum and she was amazed that a tiny little boy with tiny legs cleared it. For instance Liam got 6th I think in the championships last year in high jump and couldn't even clear the first jump. But that's nothing to be ashamed of because he just didn't have a good day. But of course I wasn't going to clear the second jump.

Yum Yum morning tea is here at last. It feels like I didn't have an breakfast I was so hungry. After morning tea it was over.

Off to throw it is. Mr Bell went through all of the instructions / rules. It was my turn on my first throw  I put my foot over the line so I got a one. Well I don't think I was going to be able to throw it far anyway because we used shot puts.

Huff Puff I'm tired already after a long day. And were only half way through the day.

Bam were off doing hurdles I start to take the lead now i've lost the lead. Were at the final hurdle here we go ... I jump to late and almost trip over but luckily I didn't although it did cost me a few seconds so I finish in second.

Now i'm huffing and puffing even more than I already was. But the they said that you can go to lunch. At last I can get something to eat. Lunch times over. So here we go more athletics.

It's time to sprint to victory so guess what it's time for sprints. When we find out that to start us off they use a cap gun some people think that it's an actual gun. Also some boys when Mr Smith shoots the cap gun pretends that it's a real and they pretend to faint.

I here the gun and off I go.  I'm sprinting against a good sprinter in Oliver Murray. I end up tying with him which is the best I have ever done in sprints.

Dust pit here I come. It's time for LONG JUMP! I'm so pumped up. I'm real good at long jump. I do my first jump and get three points then I do my second jump and I get a 4. They take your best jump and my second one was the best.

This was my last athletics day at CSNS. I was proud of myself. I think I did exceptional. And also I competed in a long distance championship and got third which was a huge achievement.

World of wonders

This term we are learning about cultural diversity. As part of our unit we are hosting a Gri11 2.0 festival. It is called the World of Wonders festival. I am in the food group. Which means we have to make food for the festival.

I was meant to make Mango jelly but we couldn't find Mango jelly crystals. So it got changed to Tropical jelly. We weren't aloud to make it at school so we had to make it at home. But of course my mum was going to say no.

And yet my mum said no. Because there wasn't enough room to set the jelly in the fridge. So I am now doing adverts for the group. We were originally going to sell the food but we decided not to. The food that we are giving away are. Tropical jelly, Dumplings, Fried rice, Sushi, Pizza, Gingerbread men, Stuffed grape leaves and French Choux.

Were looking forward to it so much.

The Lions cage

We had to write a narrative based on the silent movie called the Lions cage this is my narrative.

On the 10th of August 2001 at 9.30 am Kevin was going to the theme park in Arizona, USA. On the way there to the theme park he remembered that he forgot his fake BB gun. So he turned round to go back home to get it.

When he arrives at the theme park he realises he's late so he sprints his life out to get to the game at the theme park that he really wanted to play, before it closes or the line gets very big, because it’s the most popular game at the theme park. He got there in time before it closed or got too busy.
He took his turn and won two BIG BIG BIG !!! !!! !!! pink fluffy unicorns taller than him.

He was then going to the ferris wheel which was on the other side of the theme park. Kevin was about twenty metres away then he stopped. In excitement he was staring at what he thought at first was a tiny ferris wheel then he thinks it’s a humongous ferris wheel. So what does he do, he sprints over to the ferris wheel.

At approximately five metres away. Out of the side of Kevin’s eye he see’s something… … …  it’s a tiger who is escaping from his cage. Because the theme park zoo keeper who takes care of the zoo part of the theme park. Has left the door unlocked. But at least the door wasn’t open.

“Run” yelled Kevin remembering he didn’t want his friend’s coming along with him. So what he did was listen to his own advice that he would've said to his friends if they were to come with him. He started to run and he spotted a door so what did he do he ran straight through the door and into what he thought was a building really it was a lion’s cage. He didn’t know it was a lion’s cage so he got a big fright when he saw the lion. Considering Kevin was running so fast he nearly trip over the lion who was at the back of the cage sleeping. Luckily Kevin didn’t wake up the sleeping lion who was going to go on show in half an hour.

He tip toed over to the door and poked his hand out to try turn the handle but accidently knocked over the wood that kept the door unlocked. He next hanged his hank a chief out the little gaps to get someone's attention to come and save Kevin. Something came it was an evil dog named Philly. Philly was biting and chewing up his shoes. What a disaster he said to himself what will I do. I’ll throw water at it. Yay it worked the pesty little dog named Philly is at last gone.

And then he had another look out the gap and saw a woman her name was Lucy. When she appeared Kevin says help me get out of here. So Lucy did and when Kevin got out of the cage he ran straight up a what he thought was a pole but really was a giraffe. He then climbs down it and continues playing and looking at the different games at the theme park.

Guy Fawkes

On Saturday the 5 of November it was Guy Fawkes. I have been waiting for Guy Fawkes for a year. For Guy Fawkes on a hill called Pork chop. They are the biggest and most amazing fire works you'll see.

So what they do is they let people go down to the river to watch them. We live about 200m away from the river so about 150 cars park up our Street which is very annoying sometimes. We have got a drive way that can fit about 8 - 10 cars up it so we offered some of our friends to park in our drive if they couldn't get a park close enough.

We went to the fire works with Liam, Ella, Connor and their parents. So they parked up our drive and we walked down to the fire works with them. It was a long wait though because the fire works weren't on time.

We didn't know when they were going to start and since we weren't expecting them to start they made me jump. And the first two were the loudest which was some curse. There was about 30 - 50 fire works and they were big, loud and awesome looking.

Liam and I were lying on the ground in a sun bathing position. I thought that we wouldn't see them lying like that but we actually could see them really well since they were so high and big.

Then we went home and we saw the lights of a police car which made the parents think the were checking peoples breath to make sure they haven't drink to much alcohol. But when we got closer we saw a ambulance and there was just one police car just sitting there randomly. And Liam and I looked inside to see what we could see and we saw a old person in there.

When we got home our cat was meowing and hiding because she doesn't like fire works.

The NBA season

This year the NBA pre season started on the 5 of October 2016. The actual NBA season started on the 25th of October 2016.

This year my two favourite teams are San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. My favourite player in the San Antonio Spurs is Kawhi Leonard. And from Golden State Warriors it is Stephen Curry. Both teams are in the Western conference.

The San Antonio spurs are also called the Spurs. The Golden State Warriors are also know as GSW. Stephen Curry is a point guard. Kawhi Leonard is a small forward.

I think both plays are very good. And I'm am hoping to see both teams in the NBA finals for the 2016 - 2017 season.

My first tennis game of the season

On the 5 of November 2016 I played my first tennis game of the season. My team versed Te Kawa. I was up at 6.40am trying to get ready without waking up my sister. When I left with my dad it was about 7.20am.

We were playing in Rongotea so we had to leave early. When we got there it was pouring and pouring and pouring and only Lola and I were there so we had to stay in our cars because it was raining. 20 minutes later our whole team was there and then after another 20 minute's the opposition were all there.

Ashwin and I played our doubles first and we won that 7 - 1. That gave me some confidence for my singles. For my singles I had to verse a boy called Jonathan. I won my singles as well. The final score was 7 - 2.

I love tennis, that's why I play it. Having a doubles win and a singles win under the belt will help for the season. Also with my confidence. I'm grateful for the opportunity. To play tennis for College Street Normal School.

Environmental issue / Argument

Make a change to global warming.

Global warming is a major environmental issue. Global warming is the overall temperature  increasing to a higher level on earth. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases, aerosol cans and exhausts on cars ( Also smoke factories and other ( issues. ) Global warming has a huge impact on earth. Humans would live a better life without Global Warming.

Planting more Trees
We need to get rid of some terrible wrecked houses and plant trees. Trees soak up the greenhouse gases which stops the greenhouse gases from reaching the ozone layer. So to do that we need to get rid of some houses to put in trees to soak up the greenhouse gases. Like cO2, water vapor and carbon dioxide. Or in the country or as people call the middle of nowhere. There is lots of empty land so we could also plant lots of big trees instead of wasting such a big area ( space. )

Banning Aerosol Can
We need to get rid of aerosol cans. Because the spray that comes out of aerosol cans goes up through your roofs and goes up to the ozone layer. Which makes holes in it so the sun can shine through. It makes the temperature increase. Things like deodorant, hair spray and fly spray all come out of aerosol cans. Instead of trying to find a solution then let’s just not use them.

Processing smoke
We need to either get rid of smoke factories, or find a way so not much smoke will come out, or we could make a machine that processes smoke. Because all the smoke that comes out of the smoke factories goes up to the ozone layer and increases the hole. Because there is nothing in the air to stop it from going up. Exhaust pipes are also a problem because the inside of the pipes have got chemicals in them that provides more smoke. Smoke also causes air pollution.

Animal life
Is getting affected by Global Warming. Because like in antarctica polar bears are endangered because of the ice glaciers melting which makes the sea level rise. Polar bears live on ice so if there’s no ice, Polar Bears will become extinct. Because there’s nowhere for them to live anymore.

Global warming is also a problem for the environment. As well as people cutting down trees. Animals live in trees so if where to save animal's life we neeeeeeed to stop Global Warming.
It’s not just trees but there’s like caves, bushes and nests which animals live in.

Although people go against me because …

To get rid of wrecked houses people say that people live in those houses. So they don’t think that it should happen.

Also people go against me for aerosol cans thinking that you can only get spray on deodorant. And that you can’t get gel or wax. Men and boys don’t think they’ll be able to live without deodorant or hairspray.

People go against for smoke factories. Because they are a big part about life because they help with our every day resources. Like on cars for an example the exhaust pipes. But we could just get rid of the cars that we use currently and get electric ones.

Conclusion

That’s four reasons why we need to make those changes so Global Warming doesn’t continue. If we don’t make a change, life on earth won’t be very good. So let’s make a change to planet earth.

Jeff's fairy tale forest

Last week we translated out names into our hieroglyphic names. Then we with he symbols had to write a narrative with all the symbols.
This is my hieroglyphic narrative and my hieroglyphic name.

Once upon a time there was a boy called Jeff he hated vultures that were in baskets. But he loved Barney the dinosaur. And was obsessed with barbie dolls. And he owned a little pony that was skinny and bony. He wore a pink dress and high heels. Jeff got treated like a princess.

He one day went into the forest to deliver some out of date bread, figs and sultanas to his Great Great Grandmother. Jeff took them there in his lucky basket. On the way there he tripped over a tree and broke his arms and snapped his legs.

He couldn’t walk because he had no legs. He couldn’t hold the basket because both arms were broken. What will he do. We don’t know … … …

Jeff tried to ring 111 but accidentally rang a tv commercial place that only served people who wanted to be on a retirement show. They said “you sound very young to want to be on a retirement show”. “He said I don’t want to be on a retirement show”. But they still said, “great you can be the Grandpa on the retirement show”.

When the commercial company got there in a van that looked like a house they skidded over nearly running Jeff over. Making him nearly as flat as a computer screen. They did Jeff’s interview. And said “we’ll get back to you in three thousands days”. Jeff thought that now he might be a tv star ( Not in the best tv show though. )

He tried again to get the number right on his phone. Ten seconds later he started to put the numbers into the pin pad and a squirrel came racing past. With the speed that the squirrel was going it knocked the phone out of Jeff’s reach.

Soon he heard a noise. He jumped, he freaked out and he spun round on his butt to see if anything was there. He saw absolutely nothing. He got so freaked out he started to cry. Then out of nowhere came a man with an axe. He had a vulture on his shoulder and that vulture was in a basket. He was called the woodsman. He said “do you need any help”. “Jeff said yes please”. “If you can’t see what I look like then you must be blind because I have no legs and my arms are floppy because I broke them” said Jeff.

“I’ll help you said the woodsman”, “thanks” said Jeff. So the woodman rang the hospital and the hospital sent out an ambulance. Before you knew it he had fake legs and fake arms. So he set back off on his journey with his new friend the woodsman.

When they got to his Great Great Grandma’s house he knocked on her door there was no answer. He said to his new friend the woodsman. “What do we do”. The woodsman said “just open the door”. So Jeff did… … …

When he opened the door he saw a face, he said “Grandma”. There was no reply. He went over… … …

She was a manikin… …  …

Jeff was sad to see his loss. So he started to cry he started to cry so much his mouth was dropping to the ground. He then heard a noise. He said to the woodsman “did you hear that” the woodsman said “yes I can”.

They tracked the noise with their ears they opened the cupboard. Their was his great great Grandma. She was tapped to the cupboard and had tape on her face they took the tape off he and put her in bed. He gave her the food. And the put the manikin in the bin and took the clothes off it and put them back in her draw. And they lived happy ever after.

My agency explanation

In our class we have something called agency in our class we wrote an explanation on what agency was this is my agency explanation.

In Grill 2.0 we have an agency target. It is about knowing and doing what’s best for our learning. Also so we know what our goals are ( what we need to work on ) and what we have already achieved.

The roles on our agency target are based on things we think we need to work on. The goals are, Knowing yourself as a learner, Learning pit, Learning spaces, Striving for excellence, Collaboration and Managing and designing my own learning. Those are the six attributes on our agency target.

Here is a description of each of the attributes:

Learning pit
The Learning pit is where you never give up and you keep on trying to achieve what you're working on. Not just going right across the top and not trying. You get right in there and get it done to the best of your ability. It is okay to make mistakes and learn from them. We have learned that F.A.I.L stands for first attempt in learning and that it is okay.

Managing and designing my own learning
Managing and designing my own learning is when you manage to get everything done. By Designing your own learning you plan your day and design what you are doing. And you’re doing it for all of your learning. You can do your own inquiry and challenge yourself to improve.

Knowing myself as a learner
Knowing yourself as a learner is knowing what you can do and what you are working on so you know what workshops to attend. Rather than the teacher saying what workshops to go to when you already know how to do that. We have a goal card for each learning area to help us see what we can do and what we need to work on.

Collaboration
Collaboration is when you collaborate in groups who are going to help you the best with what you’re doing. It is okay to not just work with your friends. It is about listening carefully to other people and building on their ideas.

Striving for excellence
Striving for excellence is when you give it your all and you try your hardest to get what you’re doing done at the best of your ability and not giving up. Always giving your best effort and making sure you are proud of what you are doing!

Learning spaces
When you’re working on Learning spaces you’re working on where you will learn best and not getting distracted by your friends and your classmates.

Our  agency target works like this. You have your target and there is a set criteria that you need to have reached to be on the next level. There are three levels. Red is the lowest, that doesn’t mean you’re the worst learner. It just means you’re not as good at that and gets helped by the teacher. Then there’s orange which means you’re ok at that level for that topic. You’re not red, you’re just in the middle and get a bit of help from the teacher. Then there’s the highest which is green. That doesn’t mean you’re the best at that in the class, it’s just that you’re good at it and closer to agency in that area.

Another way you could think of it as if it’s a traffic light red, STOP!!!! You need some help with this. Orange, GET READY!!!! You’re almost ready to do it on your own but not yet. Green, GO!!!! You’ve learnt it you can now go. To move up you need to fill evidence that you can move up to the next stage.

GRi11 2.0 AGENCY - Agency Target .jpg

The reason we are developing our agency target is so it’s easy for us to know our goals and next steps. Also so we know what we need to do next ( to work on. ) I need to work on learning spaces. The agency target is really great that you don’t have to be on the same level for each thing, and everyone in the class will be different.

Our goal is used for lots of things in Grill 2.0. It is used for us to know what we need to do and when we do it and where we do it in Grill 2.0. Also so we know what workshops to go to. Because if we didn’t know our goal then we wouldn't get any better at learning and we go to school to learn.

I feel really good about using the agency target because now i’m more organised with what i’m doing. Where I do it. Who I do it with. Overall the agency target is easy to use and isn’t a waste of time which other things can be.

The production

On the 4th and 5th of July 2016 we had the whole school production. I found it really fun. It was as fun as going to watch your favourite sport team play.

We had to meet on Broadway Ave at 5.45 pm. When I got there I was instructed to meet just above the doors to get in. Both nights Jaykib Dunn was waiting at the top, with some of the other boys and girls. It wasn't just my class room 10 / 11 who were waiting up there it was also room 9 and room 20.

Now about the actual production ( The performance. ) It was funner and easier than what I thought it was going to be. I thought that I would fell embarrassed going up on stage in front of all the people. Especially my parents.

The main song that we danced to was everybody and then three other song which were my boo, can't touch this and party rocking. I'm really glad that I got to participate. And i'm also glad that there was a production.

My role in the production

This year we are doing a whole school production ( it's the first whole school production. ) It's called Cinderella and Rockerfella. My part in the production is a boys dancer. In the production we have changed the script a bit. So now there is a boys dance and a few other changes.

The boys dance comes in half way through the production. Before boys dance there's the kitchen scene and some other scenes. Boys dance is in act 2 scene ( I don't know what scene. ) We have to were a white t-shirt, jeans ( instead of jeans you can wear dress pants ) and some braces.

After the boys dance we have to go to the back of the stage. Then the ball guest come through, then we have to do another dance and then the fun bit. The band performs best day of my life.

That's my roles in the 2016 Cinderella and Rockerfella production.

My favourite thing about learning in GRILL 2.0

My favourite thing about learning in Grill 2.0 is that we have lots of learning spaces like the hub. The hub is the main area, then there is a little side room called the hall of fame. There are two other rooms called the hangout and the hide out.

The hub is the main room in the class. When we go down to sit on the mat we go sit in the hub. Most workshops that are taken are in the hub. The hub was the first area of the classroom to be named. We had a few names for it but we decided.

The hall of fame is a side room off the hub. The hall of fame is the smallest room and is the is the room that three of the imacs are kept in. We have 5 imacs two are in the hub.

The hangout is a room off the hub. It is a room for people to have meetings and to work together. It's my favourite place to work.

The hideout is a silent room. You go there when you need to get your learning done because your behind track or you're getting distracted. I don't work in there because I am never quiet and I like to work with my friends ( most of the time. )

  Hangout

My favourite super rugby team in 2016

The Highlanders are my favourite team in the super rugby because I was born in Dunedin. I started liking the Highlanders at the end of two thousand and fifteen. My Poppa is a Highlanders supporter he was the reason I changed to liking the Highlanders. I remember that in two thousand and fifteen the Highlanders were in the final. And that my neighbour's came over to watch the final and they were supporting the Highlanders and I was supporting the Hurricanes. And guess what the amazing Highlanders won the final.

Last year close to the end of the year I said at whats on top that I am supporting the Highlanders now which was after the final had been played. When they won.

One month before my birthday I asked my mum can you please get me a Highlanders jersey for my birthday because I don't have one. But she said I thought you wanted to get the adidas response running shoes. About half a week after I said to my mum can I get a Highlanders jersey she took me to rebel sport to try one on and I felt like a true Highlanders supporter wearing it. So my mum took a picture of me wearing it and sent it to my aunty and my nana. When it came to my birthday I opened my presents and I got a Highlanders jersey I was out of the roof and over the moon I was so happy.

And the adidas response running shoes I got the two weeks early before my birthday. Because I soaked my other two pairs of shoes at the weet-bix triathlon. Also because I saw the email that said they had been shipped along with some of my dads new running socks ( my dad loves his running socks ). And I am always watching the Highlanders games wearing my Highlanders t-shirt. I'll always be a Highlanders supporter until I die.

Traditional teaching style and CSI

On the tenth of May two thousand and sixteen our teachers surprised us with traditional teaching style.
We weren't a load in the classroom until ten to nine.
We had to do so many weird and odd things ex: Marching.

After morning tea we went inside and the teachers started laughing and then started clapping and then we started clapping but I don't know why. Then I realized that it was because of traditional teaching style. Then we saw TTS on the whiteboard. But know one knew what TTS meant. Then the teachers
told us what it meant.

After that we did a CSI a CSI stands for colour symbol and image.
So a CSI is a thinking ration. So the colour represents the colour you think suits what you were doing best. And thats the same thing for the symbol and image.

Sports rotation

Every Tuesday afternoon for one and a half hours we have sports rotation. We do two rotations and do each one for forty five minutes.
My favourite sport is "Drum roll" BADMINTON. Thats only for sports rotation.

Badminton is my favourite sport in sports rotation out of soccer, touch rugby, hockey, golf, circuits, basketball and tennis. Badminton is my favourite sport because I don't usually get the opportunity to play badminton that often. And also because it keeps you fit, running around the court hitting the shuttlecock, and your arms will also get strong hitting the shuttlecock around everywhere.

This year the badminton coaches are all from our class so we know them all very well. Their names are Tyler B, Anneka, Joonoh and Yutong. Last year lots of the time. The coach was someone from badminton Manawatu. Mr Robertson organises all of the sport rotations for us.

Badminton is quite an easy sport to play if you are accurate with were you try to make the shuttlecock come off on your racket. We have learnt so many different shots like back hand serve, four hand serve and back hand . Badminton is also played at the Commonwealth games and the Olympics. In badminton you can play doubles and singles my favourite is singles because then every time the shuttlecock is hit over the net it is for you to hit back to them. But in doubles there is some time confusion on who's going to hit it. Which happens to me all the time when I play doubles.

Sleepover at my friends house

On Wednesday 20th of April at four pm I went to my friend Liam's for a sleepover. When I got there we played cricket for at least one and a half hours.  Before we knew it Liam's dad got home and we played cricket for half an hour yet again. But then it got too dark to play cricket so we went inside and watched Mary Poppins with the girls and Liam's younger brother ( I don't like watching Mary Poppins). We didn't end up having dinner until about eight thirty. We continued watching Mary Poppins with dinner. After dinner we played even more cricket.

After dinner we had ice cream for desert. We went up and got dressed into our pjs and jumped into bed. Liam's mum gave us about twenty minutes to talk or read. Conor, Liam's little brother, his clock was the right time and my watch was five minutes late. So what we did was we went by Conor's clock when we were told to go to bed. Since my clock was 5 minutes late we went by my clock when we were getting up to go down stairs.

At seven o'clock Liam's mum said that we could go down stairs. Ella, Liam's twin sister and Lily my little sister were down stairs before us boys. I couldn't wait any longer so while Liam and Conor were in bed I went down stairs. When Liam and Conor came down stairs we went back up stairs to ask if we could go on the xbox 360 connect. Which Liam and Conor got for christmas to share. At eight o'clock we had to get off the xbox. Liam's mum got up at ten past eight and started to make us breakfast at quarter past eight. We had pan cakes for breakfast and we put lemon juice and white sugar in them and wrapped them up. It tasted delicious. I had never had lemon juice and white sugar before and I didn't think it was going to taste very nice. And I stayed the rest of the day to play with while my mum was at work.

My ANZAC story

My Great Great Grandfather was a New Zealand soldier fighting in Europe. At some stage during the war he was exposed to gas. This was used to kill soldiers, along with the bullets and bombs. He survived the gassing but his eyes were injured. This caused him to be temporarily blinded. He was therefore sent to England to recover.
When Walter was at the hospital recovering, my Great Great Grandmother regularly visited his hospital to read to the patients. One of the soldiers that she read to was my Great Great Grandfather. They ended up getting married and a couple of years after the war they travelled back to New Zealand to live.

Weet-bix kids tryathlon

On Thursday 24 of March 2016 we had the Weet-bix kids triathlon which is a 100 m swim, 4 km bike and a 1.3 km run.

In the morning we had to be at Ongley park which is where it was held. It was raining and pouring for the first two hours but then it improved, but it still never got perfectly sunny. The first race was the 10 year olds and then it was my race the 9 year olds. It was even worst when it was my race because we had to wait at least 20 minutes in the rain in just our tog bottoms. We loved it when we went into the pool area even though it was an outdoor pool because we were under shelter. TAKE YOUR MARKS GET SET GO the pool was incredibly warm because when you're cold the pool is warm when you're warm the pool is cold. When coming out of the pool I was leading the ten people in my race ( there are too many kids to race them all at once so they race us ten at a time ) by quite a distance.

It was a big distance between the pool and the transition. When I got to the transition I struggled to find my bike because someone had moved it to a completely different place to where I had it. Here is a photo of some of the College Street competitors.

Hurricanes coming to school

Hurricanes visit to CSNS

On Thursday 17/3/16 four of the Hurricanes came to our school. The Hurricanes are a rugby team that compete in the Investec Super Rugby Championship.
We had to wait about twenty minutes before they actually came. It was held
in our school hall.
The Hurricanes came to our school because there was a competition between four schools hosted by More. FM. The Hurricanes came because we, College Street Normal School won the competition.

My favourite place to learn in Grill 2.0

My favourite place to learn in Grill 2.0 is the hub.
I like the hub because it is a mix of all four elements of hauora.
The hub you can talk, the hangout you can't because the hangout is the silent room.
With the hideout you can talk but if you talk off topic you get kicked out of the room.
The hall of fame is too small and I like working with my friends and they also do not like the hall of fame.

The hub is a big open space, it has lots off different spaces where I can work, there are things on the wall that help with my learning. I can still talk to my friends while I am working and still be concentrated. When the teacher is talking at least when your in the hub you can hear them loud and clearly, but when your in rooms with doors shut then your most likely coming miss the instruction. When we play games like silent ball at least were playing in the room that I prefer. It has seats where you can look out at the quad and watch all the things thats going on.

Camp at Sixtus Lodge 2016

Camp, fun and exciting.

My favourite things at camp were the things that I have never done before.

- Horse riding on my own
- River walk
- Sleeping in a cabin with 20 other boys
- Burma trail
- Glow worms

My favourite activity was horse riding ( I successfully did the confident course ).

For a camp it had really good food.

Some of the odd food combinations we had.

- Apple crumble and custard for breakfast.
- Sausages and baked beans for breakfast.

Camp was a cool and fun experience for me and the other kids. All  activites we also did were fun.
In this picture i'm horse riding.
