My agency explanation

In our class we have something called agency in our class we wrote an explanation on what agency was this is my agency explanation.

In Grill 2.0 we have an agency target. It is about knowing and doing what’s best for our learning. Also so we know what our goals are ( what we need to work on ) and what we have already achieved.

The roles on our agency target are based on things we think we need to work on. The goals are, Knowing yourself as a learner, Learning pit, Learning spaces, Striving for excellence, Collaboration and Managing and designing my own learning. Those are the six attributes on our agency target.

Here is a description of each of the attributes:

Learning pit
The Learning pit is where you never give up and you keep on trying to achieve what you're working on. Not just going right across the top and not trying. You get right in there and get it done to the best of your ability. It is okay to make mistakes and learn from them. We have learned that F.A.I.L stands for first attempt in learning and that it is okay.

Managing and designing my own learning
Managing and designing my own learning is when you manage to get everything done. By Designing your own learning you plan your day and design what you are doing. And you’re doing it for all of your learning. You can do your own inquiry and challenge yourself to improve.

Knowing myself as a learner
Knowing yourself as a learner is knowing what you can do and what you are working on so you know what workshops to attend. Rather than the teacher saying what workshops to go to when you already know how to do that. We have a goal card for each learning area to help us see what we can do and what we need to work on.

Collaboration
Collaboration is when you collaborate in groups who are going to help you the best with what you’re doing. It is okay to not just work with your friends. It is about listening carefully to other people and building on their ideas.

Striving for excellence
Striving for excellence is when you give it your all and you try your hardest to get what you’re doing done at the best of your ability and not giving up. Always giving your best effort and making sure you are proud of what you are doing!

Learning spaces
When you’re working on Learning spaces you’re working on where you will learn best and not getting distracted by your friends and your classmates.

Our  agency target works like this. You have your target and there is a set criteria that you need to have reached to be on the next level. There are three levels. Red is the lowest, that doesn’t mean you’re the worst learner. It just means you’re not as good at that and gets helped by the teacher. Then there’s orange which means you’re ok at that level for that topic. You’re not red, you’re just in the middle and get a bit of help from the teacher. Then there’s the highest which is green. That doesn’t mean you’re the best at that in the class, it’s just that you’re good at it and closer to agency in that area.

Another way you could think of it as if it’s a traffic light red, STOP!!!! You need some help with this. Orange, GET READY!!!! You’re almost ready to do it on your own but not yet. Green, GO!!!! You’ve learnt it you can now go. To move up you need to fill evidence that you can move up to the next stage.

GRi11 2.0 AGENCY - Agency Target .jpg

The reason we are developing our agency target is so it’s easy for us to know our goals and next steps. Also so we know what we need to do next ( to work on. ) I need to work on learning spaces. The agency target is really great that you don’t have to be on the same level for each thing, and everyone in the class will be different.

Our goal is used for lots of things in Grill 2.0. It is used for us to know what we need to do and when we do it and where we do it in Grill 2.0. Also so we know what workshops to go to. Because if we didn’t know our goal then we wouldn't get any better at learning and we go to school to learn.

I feel really good about using the agency target because now i’m more organised with what i’m doing. Where I do it. Who I do it with. Overall the agency target is easy to use and isn’t a waste of time which other things can be.
