Weet-bix kids tryathlon

On Thursday 24 of March 2016 we had the Weet-bix kids triathlon which is a 100 m swim, 4 km bike and a 1.3 km run.

In the morning we had to be at Ongley park which is where it was held. It was raining and pouring for the first two hours but then it improved, but it still never got perfectly sunny. The first race was the 10 year olds and then it was my race the 9 year olds. It was even worst when it was my race because we had to wait at least 20 minutes in the rain in just our tog bottoms. We loved it when we went into the pool area even though it was an outdoor pool because we were under shelter. TAKE YOUR MARKS GET SET GO the pool was incredibly warm because when you're cold the pool is warm when you're warm the pool is cold. When coming out of the pool I was leading the ten people in my race ( there are too many kids to race them all at once so they race us ten at a time ) by quite a distance.

It was a big distance between the pool and the transition. When I got to the transition I struggled to find my bike because someone had moved it to a completely different place to where I had it. Here is a photo of some of the College Street competitors.

Hurricanes coming to school

Hurricanes visit to CSNS

On Thursday 17/3/16 four of the Hurricanes came to our school. The Hurricanes are a rugby team that compete in the Investec Super Rugby Championship.
We had to wait about twenty minutes before they actually came. It was held
in our school hall.
The Hurricanes came to our school because there was a competition between four schools hosted by More. FM. The Hurricanes came because we, College Street Normal School won the competition.

My favourite place to learn in Grill 2.0

My favourite place to learn in Grill 2.0 is the hub.
I like the hub because it is a mix of all four elements of hauora.
The hub you can talk, the hangout you can't because the hangout is the silent room.
With the hideout you can talk but if you talk off topic you get kicked out of the room.
The hall of fame is too small and I like working with my friends and they also do not like the hall of fame.

The hub is a big open space, it has lots off different spaces where I can work, there are things on the wall that help with my learning. I can still talk to my friends while I am working and still be concentrated. When the teacher is talking at least when your in the hub you can hear them loud and clearly, but when your in rooms with doors shut then your most likely coming miss the instruction. When we play games like silent ball at least were playing in the room that I prefer. It has seats where you can look out at the quad and watch all the things thats going on.

Camp at Sixtus Lodge 2016

Camp, fun and exciting.

My favourite things at camp were the things that I have never done before.

- Horse riding on my own
- River walk
- Sleeping in a cabin with 20 other boys
- Burma trail
- Glow worms

My favourite activity was horse riding ( I successfully did the confident course ).

For a camp it had really good food.

Some of the odd food combinations we had.

- Apple crumble and custard for breakfast.
- Sausages and baked beans for breakfast.

Camp was a cool and fun experience for me and the other kids. All  activites we also did were fun.
In this picture i'm horse riding.
